Oh my! It is a beautiful and very striking painting! I like that you included the close up, it shows your skill with the brush and the detail we miss from not seeing it in person. It reminds me of a character from the film Like Water for Chocolate ( a very good Mexican film) there is the ghost of the dead sister, who appears in windows at night.. her expression was a little like this and with the dark background it has a kind of ominous feel...a very watchful eye, to be honest I am not sure I could have her in my kitchen... I would feel watched in a sort of critical way. Is she based on someone you know? or knew?
and thank you Juniper for your interesting comment :) I did this painting after i watched the brilliant film "the Bright star", i absolutely loved the images, the colors and the use of light throughout the film... i am pleased you appreciated it... and i have to say my husband said that he feels like she is looking at him all the time ;)
